Power Hour with President Clinton

An Inspirational Lunch with President Bill Clinton

Speaker Series Luncheon

No surprise to controversy, former President Bill Clinton has been at the forefront of world politics for seventeen years and in politics for over thirty. Rising the political ranks as the Arkansas state Attorney General, becoming the 40th and 42nd Governor of Arkansas; Clinton knew no difficulty in campaigning all the way to the White House.

The Clinton presidency experienced the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in the history of the United States; including a balanced budget and a federal surplus of $559 billion dollars. President Clinton was the first member of the Democratic Party to be re-elected to a second term. Later he was impeached for obstruction of justice, but was consequently acquitted by the Senate.

Upon leaving the White House, Clinton had an approval rating of sixty-six percent. Since then, he has been involved in humanitarian work; creating the William J. Clinton Foundation to promote and address international causes such as treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and global warming.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 Chicago area supporters of Chicago House have a unique and inspiring opportunity to have an inspirational lunch with President Clinton.

Chicago House, the organization that fights for Chicagoans who are marginalized by HIV and AIDS is hosting their inaugural Speaker Series Luncheon, at 12:00 Noon at the Palmer House Hilton.

Addressing the struggles of HIV/AIDS and homelessness the President will most likely voice his side of the story on Don't Ask Don't Tell; the policy regarding gays and lesbians serving openly in the U.S. military, as well.

Equally as interesting, would be to hear the President's thoughts on the Defense of Marriage Act; defining marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman; signed into law by the President in September of 1996. This issue has galvanized young and old to stand up for their rights in a modern day civil rights movement.

Let me encourage those of you in the Chicagoland area to take your lunch break with the President and me; all while making a difference for the excellent work of Chicago House! A few tickets are still available by going to www.ChicagoHouse.org
