Fake Fur, Fedora and Foozie
The above photo was recently taken; I don’t exactly remember when—sometime last week, maybe; perhaps the week before?—But I do remember where. It was taken at Cocktail, on a Tuesday, the night Miss Foozie plays host to an ensemble of exotic male dancers shaking their cock and tails on Cocktail’s small, exotic-dancing stage. In the photo, I’m wearing a fake fur ascot and velvet fedora. Miss Foozie’s wearing her staple smile. And yes, she left body glitter on my face and on my ascot, and I freaking loved it!

CT-Oh fabulous!
ChicagoPride.com thanks Chicago Takes Off, benefitting the Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN), for affording the site an opportunity to, once again, serve as a media sponsor of the event. Chicago Takes Off, TPAN's 3rd annual burlesque show fundraiser, performed two shows to its sold-out-7:30 and 10 p.m. audiences, Saturday March 7. The performances, themed "Once Upon a Time... In the Magical Kinky Kindom," were FAB-U-LOUS, and featured 107 volunteer dancers and choreographers as well as over a dozen volunteer members of the back-stage and front-of-the-house crew. ChicagoPride.com is honored to have taken part in the event's pre-promotion. ChicagoPride.com also recognizes, and relishes, the participation of our own signature blogger Aray who played a cute mouse-y in a sexy, Alice in Wonderland segment. And while the site may be a bit biased, CP is inclined to feel that Aray was one of the more enthusiastic members of his ensemble. He was the only one smiling throughout the entire segment. TPAN's next big event is Ride for AIDS Chicago taking place June 6 and 7.

Watch the Teeth
Pushers of here! Network's second season of The Lair on DVD are calling it a "fang bang" (and I'm way jealous that I didn't think of that myself). The LGBT cable channel's blood-sucking soap opera, surrounding a nest of gay vampires preying on unsuspecting bathhouse patrons, begins where the first season left off: Damien (Peter Stickles) has been caged behind a brick wall by Colin (Dylan Vox), and without a regular blood supply, what's a rotting vampire corpse to do? Frankie's (Brian Nolan) ghost is totally pissed off about being murdered, super buff Sheriff Trout (Colton Ford) has gone blind and a werewolf has wandered into town, for reasons never quite explored. In fact, his character is kind of pointless, but he's cute and often naked, so it's ok. Also kind of pointless is the subplot regarding an evil orchid out to get an obsessed botanist, whose voice is poorly dubbed over throughout the entire series. Yet these irritating idiosyncrasies in the storyline don't really have a stronghold, because the The Lair’s poignant provocation isn’t in the plot-—It’s in the gratuitous gay sex inserted solely for gratuitous gay sex’s sake. Every hot body is fucking everybody, except for Colton Ford because that bitch gets seriously paid to fuck, even if the fucking is faux. So if you like your sci fi with a healthy dose of soft core porn, pick up the second season of The Lair on DVD, and pick it up while you can. It’s doubtful that there’s going to be a season three. The Lair: The Complete Second Season on DVD hits shelves Tuesday, February 24, 2009.

Lennox Love for Lennox Fans
It's like I've been walking on broken glass these last seven months, waiting for an opportunity to pen another Q Capriccio feature. But record companies and PR firms just weren't sending me any novel stuff to write about, and I wanted to know, "Why?" It was like the music industry had no more "I love you's" for this little bird. For a while, it seemed that this no-content-for-Q-Capriccio situation would be the pattern of my life, leaving me nothing but pavement cracks on a dark road, until Annie Lennox appeared with her new best-of CD, The Annie Lennox Collection, shining light on Q Capriccio with a thousand beautiful things. Tualo In Town
Seen on Scene: Following his guest appearance, speaking to NIU's Athletic Department, former NFL-er Esera Tualo opted to spend the V-Day weekend in Boystown with his uber-handsome bf Aaron. While painting the town pink last night, Tualo hit up Sidetrack, Halsted's, popped into the TPAN Bar-lesque fundraiser at Northend and did Karaoke at Bobby Love's, belting out a rendition of Alicia Keys' "No One." To what may have come as a shock to all in the bar, this 300lb Samoan can sing! Tualo's self-titled debut album, Esera is slated for release next month.

I accidentally hit on Itay Hod
While collecting quotes for my Valentine's Day-esque feature, "Laborers of Love," I called up CBS looking for Jason Bellini. Yet alas, the person who answered the phone told me Bellini was no longer with CBS. "Well, what about that really good-looking guy, Itay Hod?" I asked, remembering that Hod was also a hot and handsome piece of man meat reporting for CBS News on Logo. "Itay would be perfect. Is sexy Itay still around?" The person on the other end started to giggle. "Thank you very much," he said. Turns out, I was already speaking to Itay Hod. Itay Hod was the person who answered the phone. I suppose anyone else would have been embarrassed, but I wasn't. Fuck it. I was more so surprised to learn that Hod isn't that lucky in love. He told me that he hasn't had a "real bf"-—one that he defines as lasting longer than two or three months—-for almost eight years. How can that be? Hod is handsome, distinguished, well-spoken and on TV-—guys must be fighting each other off to taste a piece of that pie. Perhaps Hod's only attracted to the confused and the crazy, or the Amish, and I can relate to that. Then again, he didn't say he had any trouble getting laid, just keeping a man. So what do I know? Nonetheless, the most interesting quote, for me, had to be from Levi Kreis. This former religious fundamentalist-turned sexy song bird and stage and screen player said all the right things, opting for brotherhood and self-confidence, over physicality and superficial attraction, as the stuff that floats his boat. Frankly, I just didn't buy it. When Kreis is seen holding hands with one significantly older and overweight, and maybe a bit balding and pock-marked, because he's so turned on by the troll's progressive level of self-assuredness, my tune will change.
