6th Annual Matthew Shepard March

The march begins at the corner of Halsted and Roscoe at 8PM.
This year’s Matthew Shepard March, cosponsored by Equal Marriage NOW! and the Chicago Anti-Bashing Network, will focus on the broader issues involved in the struggle for equal marriage rights for same sex couples. Besides the 1000+ rights that come with marriage, the issue has become a referendum on the future of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people in this country.
Keynote address by Wayne Besen, author of “Anything But Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth.” (Anythingbutstraight.com)
Other speakers include Karl Warren of Church of the Open Door, Diana Williamson of Illinois Gender Advocates, and Laura Velazquez, Victim Advocacy Coordinator for the Center on Halsted.
