Anita Gouloomian, US, 2003

The small, western, mountain town of Beaver Run is a place that people can’t wait to get out of; so it’s no wonder that the arrival of Marcy, a mysterious young woman from the city, stirs gossip and intrigue among the town’s eccentric characters that hang out at the gay-owned Beaver Run Café. Newcomer Marcy becomes enchanted with the cafe’s waitress, Regina, whose down-home unpretentiousness helps Marcy shed her up-tight reserve and reveal her secret reason for making Beaver Run her new home. The two women embark on an unconventional romance, with their fun flirtation heightened by the colorful locals and the beautiful northern California location. Video, 88 min.
