Chicago’s 50th Annual Dearborn Garden Walk

The North Dearborn Association’s (NDA) 50th Annual Dearborn Garden Walk showcasing Chicago’s famed Gold Coast residential rear gardens will be held on
Sunday, July 20, 2008 from Noon – 5:00pm. Over twenty Near North residents will open their private gardens to reveal spectacular landscaping, lily ponds, electric trains with landscaping to scale, gazebos, fountains, sculptures, architectural artifacts and even a resident frog!

On the third Sunday in July, hundreds travel from all over the country to take part in what has become one of the nation’s oldest neighborhood garden walks. This festival is a fundraising event that benefits the North Dearborn Association, a neighborhood organization dedicated to the preservation and beautification of its Near North neighborhood.

Entrance is on corner of Dearborn & Goethe. Tickets are $35.00 on July 20, 2008 and $30.00 in advance. Advance sales close at noon Saturday, July 19, 2008. Admission includes a Garden Walk program with a map for a self-guided tour of the gardens; live jazz and classical music in select gardens and guided architectural tours of Dearborn Street.
