AIDS Run & Walk Chicago. This popular annual fundraising event also features a "Health & Fitness Village," sponsored by the Illinois Department of Public Health, and event entertainment.
Location: Columbus & Balbo, in Grant Park
Time: 7:30 a.m. (Star Fundraiser Breakfast Begins)
8:00 a.m. (Registration Opens)
8:00 a.m. (Health & Fitness Village Opens)
9:50 a.m. (Check-In Closes)
9:55 a.m. (5K Run Begins)
10:00 a.m. (5K Walk Begins)
Location: Grant Park – Columbus and Balbo
Cost: $25 in advance; $30 on-site.
::About the Beneficiaries::
Founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS. AFC collaborates with community organizations to develop and improve HIV/AIDS services; funds and coordinates prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champions effective and compassionate HIV/AIDS policy. Members of AFC’s Service Providers Council (SPC) will receive funding from AIDS Run & Walk Chicago 2009 through the CommunityDirect Program.
