About Face Theatre joins over 100 theatres around the country in a simultaneous world premiere reading led by Tectonic Theatre Project (original creators of The Laramie Project) in New York City.
Mayor Richard M. Daley is the Honorary Chair for this one-night only benefit for About Face Youth Theatre, which was founded in response to Matthew Shepard’s murder eleven years ago to provide a safe space for LGBTQ youth and their allies to become artists and advocates.
Last year, for the ten year anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death, the Tectonic Theater Company went back to Laramie, Wyoming where they interviewed all of the same people who contributed to The Laramie Project. They have created The Laramie Epilogue: Ten Years Later. All profits go to About Face Theater's youth group. COME WITNESS THE PREMIERE EVENT. A grand night in theater history.
