Reeling presents the What's Your Fantasy program. Flights of fancy, whimsical waking dreams, improbable mental images, all based on hopes and dreams. * Dirty Magazines (Jay J. Levy, USA, 2008): An overbearing mother finds her son’s gay porn magazines the morning of his 16th birthday.
* Spokes (Peter Ireland, Australia, 2009): An imaginative boy takes a fantastical bike through town to find the perfect flower for his crush.
* Ogles with Goggles (Shane Morton, USA, 2009): The aftermath of a drunken one-night stand told in the style of a Dr. Seuss Beginning Reader Book.
* Wait (C Snyder, USA, 2008): A man undresses and ties himself up in a locker room.
* helping hand (Steven Bentley, USA, 2008): Nervous David has trouble making a deposit for friends at the local sperm bank, so the clinic director has to call in a special favor to seal the deal.
* On the Bus (Tracy D. Smith, Canada, 2008): Jeremy has a fantasy conversation with his sexy crush to gain the courage to talk to him.
* Unlovable (Kenneth Sherman, Canada, 2009): Armstrong Jr.’s music video about being single.
* After (Mark Pariselli, Canada, 2009): Three teenage boys idealize and fantasize about an older teenage football player until they witness his death.

About Reeling:

Reeling 2009, the second-oldest LGBT film festival in the world, will run November 5th through the 15th, showcasing innovative gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender films from around the globe. Reeling will take place at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema (2828 N. Clark St.), Film Row Cinema (Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash Ave.), Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport Ave.), and the Festival’s home base at Chicago Filmmakers (5243 N. Clark St.).

As always, Reeling continues to push boundaries and keep the festival’s programming fresh and culturally rich by presenting work from worldwide perspectives and in genres ranging from light-hearted comedy to introspective experimental. Our mission is to recognize the important artistic and socially relevant contributions LGBT filmmakers have made to our culture and to counteract stereotyping with valid, meaningful, and diverse portrayals of LGBT people.
