Reggie Watts at Lakeshore Theater

Reggie Watts will perform May 4 and 5 at 8 pm. Winner of the 2005 Malcolm Hardee Award following his smash hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Watts also received the 3rd Annual Andy Kaufman Award by Andy’s father and long-time manager George Shapiro. Combining looped vocals created live on stage with his unique brand of improvised comedy, Watts’ show touches on subjects as diverse as ancient history, technology, science, spirit elves, and racism, to theology and pop culture. His unique blend of musical comedy incorporates hip-hop, trip-hop, 80’s pop alternative, classical opera, and is all improvised over looped beatboxing, channelling multiple influences into a unique sound that disorientates, enlightens and confuses in the most entertaining way. He has performed at Dave Matthews Band, Black Eyed Peas, and Rolling Stones concerts. Tickets are $20.
