Nurturing the Inner Voice of the Twin Spirit

Come share a weekend with other men searching for a higher purpose. We will learn how to honor each other and ourselves in a sacred spiritual way using Earth Honoring Teachings of the indigenous peoples. The retreat will be focusing on self love, self awareness, and self discovery. We will explore questions regarding how we nurture ourselves as gay men, how we validate ourselves and what are the masks that we wear in today’s society. We will be conducting fire ceremonies, trance dance, guided meditations, learning about our natural intuitive side and about our energy centers. These exercises help us to let go of and to unmask old patterns that no longer serve us.

The Fastest Clock In The Universe

A Red Orchid Theatre presents the Midwest premier of The Fastest Clock In The Universe by Phillip Ridley, author of The Pitchfork Disney and the screenplay for the acclaimed film The Krays. This wickedly demented fairytale follows the “nineteenth” birthday of Cougar Glass as he courts his new young friend and the evening goes from weird to worse. Directed by Dado, who also directed A.R.O.T.’s haunting production of The Gray Zone, and featuring ensemble member Jennifer Engstrom. The Fastest Clock In The Universe opens Monday October 25th at 7:00pm and runs Thursdays-Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 7:00 pm through November 28th. (No performance November 25th.) Tickets are $14-$20 (based on performance date). Please call (312) 943-8722 to order tickets or for more information visit our website at www.a-red-orchid.com.

W!

W! is the story of George W. Bush filmmaker Michael Moore would write if he could sing and dance. Set at a Republican fundraiser, W! is a good-natured send-up of President Bush, his character, cohorts, and credentials. The musical takes our leader from his Texas roots through his days in the National Guard during Vietnam, and finally to the White House. He is supported by his Karl Rove (who else), Dick Cheney, Wally O'Malley of Ohio, and Pat Robertson. In W! President Bush takes the audience through the now familiar saga of the last four years and spins them into out of control hilarity. The songs include "Texas Kind of Prez", "Mayberry Macchiavelli", "Fox in the Henhouse", and "Weapons of Mass Distraction". Join Theater Wit and W! in our own coalition of the willing. Why should the great nations of Eritrea and Palau Tonga have all the fun?
