Dear Darby, This will be the first time I will be attending Fireball/ the weekend event.
I was wondering what kind of fashion to wear over the week-end as well as what kind of fashion is out there for a 50 something guy that won't look like the GAP?
VIP What to Wear/ Guy
Dear VIP What to Wear/Guy,
First time "Fireballer"? Get ready for a trail blazing fast forward ignited weekend that will enkindle your heart, and send your spirit through the dance floor!
I had a fabulous "Fireball" time last year with friends. If you can go with friends, the better, but if you are going by yourself the first time, you'll rule your own schedule, and have fun meeting new friends. Just be careful.
The Great Chicago Fire is the Hearts Foundation weekend backdrop staging venues that will throuw a torch in any of the directions of the events. Whether it's the Ignition Party at the House of Blues, or Closing Party at Excslibur, you'll be surrounded in the sea of flames of fun, fashion, and music.
What to wear? You'll see everything from shirtless and jeans, to costumes and unique imagination during this event. And, even things you don't want to think about, not to mention actually bumping into in the dark!
Since this is your first time, dress comfortably, attractively, and remember if you're using your imagination, a little less than more will fit the bill.
Think color. Classic club black. Think silk shirt, (black tank (if you plan to take off your shirt) on a little tan, (make an appointment for a little tan if it's healthy for you), small removable red flame tattoo (in a fun place), good haircut, comfortable black dance shoes, and a warm smile should do the trick.
Check out the photos on ChicagoPride.com from Fireball 2004. You'll see everyone having fun, and alot of shirtless "Firedancers".
Keep in mind that this is an event by the Hearts Foundation. It's winder, it's the cold and flue season. If you're attending the entire weekend events, Princess Darby reccommends the following: eat well, sleep well, dress warmly, (this includes a winter coat), take a cab if you're drinking, be safe in ALL ways, have lots of fun, remember our manners, and seriously, don't go home with strangers!
Set fire to the dance floor, and get ready for your first experience, I'll be the one in the red boa in black! Be happy, Be safe, have fun!
Princess Darby
P.S. Dear Readers, I have been out with the flu, Princess Darby apologizes for her lateness. I will keep my Princess Promise and answer all your questions in turn.
