Dear Pincess,

I have several friends that I would like to invite to a holiday brunch.

My question is, some of the partners of my friends don't get along very well, and I would like the brunch to go smoothly.

What is the proper etiquette to approach this?

To brunch or not to brunch.

Dear At Wits End,

Make it easy on yourself and your friends. Either entertain your friends on a one to one basis, or tell them their rude partners need to be civil or they are invited to leave them at home. Uncivility is not on the menu!

In either case, remember your door to your home is for entering and leaving. Keep their coats near the door for any hasty departures!
