if you smoke than don't hit big chicks...but if you are young and enjoy din-din and a few drinks than big chicks after tweet is just the order for you. a neighborhood bar to the increasingly youthful andersonville/edgewater set... the aging halsteders be prepared, nu-boyztown is here, at big chicks.

I loved this place, I went there a few weeks ago for an event called a Bitch to quit to support a friend that was trying to quit smoking and, I loved the way the staff treated us and I would definatelly go back to support their bar, keep up the great spirit. Vivemehoy

Big chicks is the greatest neighborhood/big city bar around. The staff is friendly and Michelle rocks! She truly loves her clientelle! The food is great and there is no smoke in my eyes! What a fun place to hang out with friends. I hope BC is here forever! If you haven't tried the Brunch next door at Tweet...GO!!! Best brunch in the city. At Chicks..the chicken burger is my reccomendation..hmm.hmm!
ps..also BC is the only gay bar in Chicago where a nice tall Hacker Pschor is sold. Need I say more?(because i can!)

Going strong as ever, Big Chicks is definitely a hopping place. And now it's a non-smoking hopping place which makes SUCH a huge different for everyone. Great food in the bar and next door at Tweet, great staff and an amazing vibe. And if you must smoke, a hot patio out back. Thanks for being the rock, Big Chicks!

My vist venture back into the bar scene, after the break-up of a ten year relationship, lead me to Big Chicks. I haven't felt the need to go anywhere else since. It's all here...great music, great crowd, great staff. Thank you, Michelle and the staff at Big Chicks for making me feel at home.

Love the music, the bartenders are prompt and friendly and pour a stiff drink for a great price. But please, Michelle, drop a few bucks and fix the bathrooms. They're foul!

A ex-friend of mine introduced me to this bar two years ago and now whenever I want to escape from northern wisconsin, I come to big chicks. The bar clientel is superfriendly, the drink prices won't give you a heart attack and no one (not even the bar staff) throws an attitude. This bar is way better (and safer)than the bars often visited by the tourists and snotty queens (spin, berlin). A must go when you are in chicago for the weekend!

The bar with a warm friendly personality. We love Michelle Fire! Even thought it's outside Boystown, Chicks' is always crowded on the weekend. I also love brunch at Michelle's new Tweet restaurant next door.

Love Big Chicks, and Love Michelle Fire, the owner. As Andersonville and Edgewater become the new GLBT neighborhoods, this bar gets more and more popular - it can be VERY crowded on weekend nights. Stick around until midnight for the free shots. Be sure to stop in after 3 pm on Sundays for free food, especially in the summer when the softball teams come directly from their games for free food. Michelle owns a new restaurant next door - Tweet - it's good, if a bit pricey for the neighborhood. Free parking in the back in two lots ... unless the spots are all full up.

Great atmosphere. Much prefer this to the Halsted crowded busy bars. People are very laid back and friendly. The bartenders are really cool as well.
5 stars for this neighborhood bar!!!

Big Chicks is removed from the parade route, but can be a good getaway destination after the parade- you'll still find plenty of queers, plus a free barbeque. You're better off visiting either the Friday or Saturday night before, to get away from the madding crowd on Halsted. Big Chicks is a fairly mellow, relaxed place that has a hot little dance floor on weekend nights. You'll find all kinds and all ages here, though it's beneath the average circuit queen - thank god. Cheap drinks, too - never a cover. If you're visiting Chicago, you'll want to make time to visit this place - viewed by many as the best neighborhood gay bar in the city.
