What fun. Very friendly staff, easy to get a drink, free darts, GREAT jukebox, and through the summer it's hard to find a better beer garden.
This place is underestimated. If you want to hang out and have some fun with friends, have some bar food, great priced drinks, and play some pool, darts and listen to music of your choice, visit Stargaze. Looking forward to when Chicago is smoke free, but this place has space enough that the smoke is not overwhelming. A hidden gem.

Okay, I visited last weekend and it's definately a girl bar. No reflection on the club where as it's out of their hands I guess, but its very much a COUPLES BAR making it a little clique-ish.

I love stargaze I've visited a few bars that say their girl bars, but lacked that ump.stargaze is the place to be on saturday nights.
the atmosphere is 4 stars gay friendly 5 stars friendliness overall is 6 stars. you can go stargaze alone and still have a nice time. the staff -> awesome.

The L-Word being the #1 Lesbian Show on Sunday nights, you'd think that a predominantly Lesbian bar would be drawing in the crowd for such an event.
Thought for sure those of us who don't necessarily dance or maybe enjoy the current top 40 music would have a gay old time together, and support our local lesbian bar by watching our favorite show. Don't bother going here to watch it though. Half way through the show suddenly karoke starts blasting from the dance area of the bar, and some far less than steller singing suddenly was drowning out the words of the show. Granted some of the TV screens have the dialog box to read the words, but...karoke can't wait another 30 minutes??! Why bother trying to draw us there by saying you show it just to piss us off, or at least make us feel that our business is unwanted half way through?! Message received!

I would say that overall Stargaze, is a good place to go too. I do agree thou that a lot of the woman there are clicky, been there by myself a few times.
I would say that it would be a better place if the woman there would welcome new people.

What we must keep in mind is ...support the community. If you don't, the businesses will lose money and close down, then you'll really be complaining about not having anywhere to go.
The club is in the lez territory known as Andersonville, and yes, interior updates are most definitely required to attract the crowd and in order for those updates to take place your asses must come and spend some money – stop babysitting that drink.
Stop complaining and make a difference.

Saturday's at Staragze a wonderful. I have met some life time friends there and I am very happy that I ever started going.
So for all the bad reviews all I can say is...WRONG. Stargaze has the BEST staff in the world and some the most beautiful women.

The only Bar in Chicago to meet Latinas....DJ Castro is the Best we have in this industry! keep up the good work and promote your bar more! We need to let the butches in Chgo know that we love to dance so pleeeeeese get on the dance floor don't be shy.

For one of the very few lesbian spots, I think Stargaze is pretty cool. The best time to get there though is between 11:30 and 12, because before that it's kind of empty.
The drinks are always good. Even thought the DJ normally starts off with a lot of old school, by 12 he's hitting you with mad house and hip-hip, so the floor stays packed. I've had a great time everytime that I've gone. I always go with my girl, so I don't look to hook up but I always have someone trying to hook up with me, lol. I like Stargaze. More lesbians need to come out and support the bar!

Messy,kind of like a throw back to the eighties, but without that flare. More of a honky tonk than a night club.
Last time I was there, on a Saturday night, the place was nearly empty, the tables were unclean and the bar was slow.

In response to the last review. No it isn't a latin club it is a lesbian and gay club. Friday nights are salsa nights and Saturday nights are house music nights.
The Djs are really good. I actually get hit on a lot at Stargaze and I don't feel that they are clicky. You are either attractive or you're not. I do however feel that the bouncer on Sundays who happens to be there on Fridays is a little rude and offensive she needs to be tamed. Overall the music on Saturdays would be really even better if all the OLD lame Lesbos would stop requesting bullshitt and let the Dj do his job. Like hello the 80's are over and the 90s lets move into the new people...
By the way the latin girls on Friday are freaking hot!!!

hmm sounds like this is mostly a latin night club?? I have been there about 4 or 5 months ago on a SUNDAY. For kerokee lol or however you spell it.
IT sucked....yes no one was friendly. I was by myself and no one hit on me...just all clicks. The bouncer was nasty as I was leaving with YES pop she wouldnt no let me take it out of the bar. NASTY ASS.

First timer at Stargage was PRIDE weekend. THe music was FIERCE. The Latina DJ was AWESOME. THey introduce a male DJ her was great too.
Crowd was very diverse I really enjoyed it

Oh my god! Friends and I went this past weekend to Stargaze and it was AWFUL. We read these reviews and thought it may be the place to go, but boy are they misleading.
We are writing this one to give the "other side" of the story. The place is too small, the decor is bad 70s mirrored walls and the women are not friendly or cute- nor is the staff. The DJ could not get anyone on the dance floor and overall it was a bad night out! Yuck. Come on lesbians -we can do better than this!

I have not been to Stargaze for about two years until the day before Valentine's ( Fri. 2/13/04 ) Salsa Night.
I'm glad I did, I had a great time. The decor & staff is pretty much the same. The music is still very hot !! I was happy to see it was the guy dj. He is really good, he keeps everyone busy on the dance floor. Overall, from my past experience & new experience on Friday night ( Salsa night ), both the girl & guy djs are great . This is still the place to go. I'll be there next week for sure with my girlfriends.

A lot of things have been said about Stargaze both good and bad.I myself have had great experiences there. I prefer Fridays.
I like all three of their Djs, Buy my definite favorite is the Puertorican girl with the pony tail. I'm a latin music lover and she definitely knows her stuff. I get my workout there for free. The food is good and has been better lately. That is because they now have a new cook, a latin gay boy to be exact. The women are beautiful and as far as the owners are concerned, I go out with the intentions of having a good time. Not to judge people negatively. I feel if you have a good personality the same is returned. Well I will be there tomorrow for sure. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Stargaze is a very unique and fun place. I really enjoy myself every time i go. Good mixed crowd, not a lot of drama and great music.
staff is pleasant. not many all lesbian spots to go but this one is the bomb.
