Went recently and will be returning very soon,met the most incredible man there .We exchanged numbers altho i never used it yet im so tempted to see if he gave me a real number.The whole bath house exp. is incredible an dsteamworks i sth eonly place i would reccomend to any and all.Its clean and very updated .Jus keepin in mind to play safe and know everyone goes there for same reasons.I give Steamworks a thumbs up,and gym hats off to the staff.

I go there several times each month and I would be considered one of the hot bois there. The difference is; if someone hits on me that I'm not into, I say "no thanks".
Many others are rude when they say no, but that tends to be based on the fact that so many can't take NO as an answer.
Bottom line, if you get hit on and aren't intrested, take it as a compliment and say "no thanks". If someone says no to you, leave them alone and maybe there wouldn't be any rude attitudes after a while.
Remember, it isn't the hot ones that are always the rude ones.

I go about 2 to 4 times a month. Usually I find what I am looking for there. Occasionally I go home slightly disappointed, that's life. It's clean with nice (and cute) professional staff. Some guys have attitude, most don't, but there is usually a good "selection". If that hot young "poser" doesn't want to have sex with you, move on. Not everyone went there to have sex with you or me.

Being a steady steamwork's patron for years I have to agree with some of you guys and disagree with others.
The place is immaculate! The best bathhouse I've ever experienced, in the states and even in other countries. This is pretty much the consensus from the guys I've met there also. We are blessed with such an awesome place.
I have to agree with the guys who have said that not everyone there is to have sex. After all, it is a "fitness" gym. HAHA. But really...With the veritable buffet of men walking around in towels, people have the right to have discriminating tastes.
I know I am particular and I've often found myself being one of the "models" on the wall--be the pursuer while being the pursuee. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
If there is no one there for me, I'll either watch the awesome porn playing, listen to the music, or else hang out at the showers/tub.
Steamworks absolutely WORKS for me.
We are blessed that a place like this exists because, quite frankly, do you think this would work in the hetero world?

ok,now the gloves are coming off,first of all I went to steamworks for the first time back in dec. 2002 at the urging of soem yng overweight guy online who told me that if u cannot get laid with the guys u want from online then go to steamworks and u will definately get laid,he said he went there from time to time when he got so lonely and depressed,well I went that first time and for most of the 6 hrs all I encountered was stuckup guys,with about 30 min left before i had to leave in one of the video rooms there was this twinky looking guy that was eying me and came over and started feeling me thru my towel,well we went to his room and he blew me and made me come in his mouth then he spat it in the trash can,we chatted briefly,I thought he was 18,19 maybe but turns out he was 28,but he was high on something i could tell then he pushes me out of his room,now i must say i am a 28yo guy,overweight,but lost alot of weight and still losing it,with premature gray hair,so in person I am told that i look older by a few years like 33,34 maybe,well i only go for guys 18-24,and I have found it impossible using persoanls to find a relationship with a guy that age or even a hookup or even a platonic friend and mostly i go for guys that seem to have some interest in what i do,but to no avail,so I thought well at steamworks i can at least get the sex stuff taken care of,well I have been there since that first time,maybe 40 times,msot recently in nov 2004,and have gone at diff times from late night fri and sat into the next morings and every single time I have been pushed away and treated like shit by the ynger guys,didn't matter that they weer asians or latinos,the only ones that weere nice to me were the ynger black guys,but the guys that seem to always go for me are the white males over 55 and over 60,and to be honest while on one hand i am flattered i guess that they think me cute,I am also depressed because the guys I want are not into me at all,and i know that not everyone is everyone's tastes i get that,the only guys that i did anythin with there after that first time were all over 50 and over 60,i just settled,I tried mans country but too dirty and too many hustlers and black guys,steamworks is clean place,I like their big whirlpool,I just wish i could get lucky once with one of the ynger guys,I feel like I am wasting my money each time then I go home depressed,that's my review,wish I could say that I had great times

Well, I have been there twice but had a good experience both times. First of all, let me just say that as a Black man, I got alot of attention. Guys were speaking to me, complimenting my body, piercings, tattoos and mostly my smile. It's all about how you carry yourself. There's gonna be stuck-up, narrow-minded and immature guys wherever you go ...so just deal with it. Moving on, we had a nice big room with three television sets, a gigantic bed and a sling. The place was really clean, the music was awesome and the whirlpool was the answer to comfort after a long night of bartending. I was nervous about going the first time but my friends assured me that I would fit in. It was nice and I would go back.

I've been going to Steamworks for a long time and almost always walk out satisfied. To those who have had negative experiences related to "attitude," you might try going at off-peak times, if you are able.
I've given up on going late night Fridays and Saturdays because those are what I refer to as "amateur nights." This is when guys go to Steamworks, (a) to show off their perfect bodies to other guys with perfect bodies; (b) to engage in the same "girl talk" they were having at the watering hole the whole group of them just left; or (c) to engage in mechanical sex that satisfies the frustration they spent a night at the bars building up, but does little for me.
When I go on a Sunday afternoon or a weekday afternoon or evening, there may be fewer guys there, but those guys are generally more into the bathhouse experience as I like it: more interaction, and more willingness to see if a guy who doesn't press all your buttons appearance-wise may nevertheless be exactly what you look for in a sex partner. I can't tell you how many guys I've hooked up with for amazing sex who fall outside of my ideal physical types.

What a delight to find such a clean, well-maintained place. One walk through got me plenty of touches and lots of looks. After standing in one place for a minute or so, I had a guy in front of me on his knees, giving head like crazy. Two others lined up behind him. In the "cut out" area the guys were wild, even on a Saturday morning. The place has the best steam room and hot tub I've seen. The showers are great for viewing and being seen. Can't wait to get back to Halstead Avenue.

I've been going to Steamworks for some time and have always been very happy with the facility. My biggest problem is that the humidity changes in the various parts of the building gives me huge hassles with my contacts.
I can't say that I have found anyone very rude, but then I try not to force myself on anyone who isn't interested.
I have however found myself having to be rude to men who seem to be able to take no for an answer, especially those who seem to feel that my interaction with someone else gives them free reign to molest either or both of us.

While in Illinois to visit my father in August 2003, I took this opportunity to patronize Steamworks for the first time. I found the club to be exceptionally clean with excellent and spacious facilities. In particluar, I was impressed with the whirlpool. I found it relaxing and I was pleased to observe pairings of men embracing. This scene did much to set me at ease and to prepare me for my later adventures in the dark zones upstairs.
I will be again in Illinois later this month. Steamworks will be the highlight of my stay!

I've been a out-of-town visitor to Steamworks for a VERY long time. How long? Well let me put it to you this way: FAR longer than it's been named Steamworks! It was called the Unicorn when I began going.
First off, the place is VERY clean and comfortable. The staff is ALWAYS nice and makes you feel welcome, and the rennovation makes the place even more comfortable! Rooms are very clean, and I have found friendly welcome messages from the management.
While I have enjoyed many, many HOT times there, I must say the clientelle has become more RUDE in recent years. I am hot, and in shape, and I just turned 40, yet the last couple times I have visited I have left feeling like crap. There's the "stand & model" variety everywhere. {There are also decent men as well, but you have to look harder.}
Again, my main concern is not with the facility itself, but with the RUDE attitudes I see flung around. I have seen comments in these reviews about someone looking for their "type", but I believe it is possible to decline WITHOUT making someone feel like crap.
While I have enjoyed many HOT times there, my next visit I plan to visit Man's Country instead because I need not travel to Chicago for attitude! It's a shame the Steamworks patrons cannot behave like the staff.
Before I end this review, I would like you young bucks to understand something: Older men were once young as well, and if you don't live your lives too recklessly, YOU TOO may be older as well. IS THIS THE WAY *YOU* would want to be treated?! Let me tell you something about the old days: while there was still the usual "I'm so hot" contest, there was ALSO a attitude of RESPECT for the older men as well. THEY are the ones that paved the road for YOUR freedoms; and as long as they show you respect, you should do the same. The things you do TODAY will affect the way things are TOMMOROW.

The thing that makes Steamworks is the same thing that apparently bothers some people. There really is something for everyone - some amazingly hot guys (sorry - much better than the stuck ups on the coasts) and lots of average guys who can be amazingly hot also. Some guys come only to hangout - others come for sex and leave quick. But there's almost always something there for you - and if he's not, wait 30 minutes - he'll show up. When I am in Chicago I love to go to the STEAMWORKS. I have found that it is very clean with condoms everywere to use. I feel that some of the customers are stuck on themselves and they need to give themselves a break and understand they are there for the same reason I am. Overall I think STEAMWORKS is a great place, but some of the girly boys need to chill out they are not as special as they think they are.
