Q On the Move Premiere Party

ChicagoPride.com was all up on the Qtv as the LGBT cable network hosted the premiere party for the Chicago episode of its signature travel series Q on the Move. The debut viewing was held at Sidetrack this past January 25th. A featured segment included our own contributor's photos, the site's front page as well as an interview with Director of Marketing Daniel Ortiz and ChicagoPride.com President Matthew Inawat as the producers for the Windy City's hottest and most popular online source for all that is local LGBT community and culture, ChicagoPride.com (That's us!). The whole CP.com family came out to show some love and support for our own and for all our new best friends and mass-media partners at the Q Television Network.

CP.com Editor-in-Chief Steve Long spent the evening schmoozing site contributor PJ Gray, author of the recently released cook book, More Bear Cookin' Bigger and Better. Perhaps Steve was just trying to suck up to PJ in order to get a piece of his famous Peanut Butter Pizza Pie. Someone should tell him there's no need to butter up our bear. Steve can just buy his own copy here.

Aside from making a featured appearance at the Seattle Spring Thaw this April and being a monthly guest on Sirius Satellite Radio's The John McMullen Show, PJ is also currently developing a feature for ChicagoPride.com on Q Television's coverage of this summer's Gay Games. Be sure to keep an eye out for it!

Speaking of Gay Games, also in attendance was Chicago Gay Games 2006 Marketing Manager Brenda Schumacher, seen at the bar schmoozing registered athletes and Gay Games affiliates. She too was interviewed by Q on the Move, sharing information on the games as well as that inviting smile of hers. Keep your girlfriends close ladies! If the Gay Games were to hold a most eligible bachelorette contest this July, with beauty and brains, Brenda would take home the gold.

Yet no show on the Chicago LGBT scene would be complete without including everyone's favorite glitter-faced nightclub hostess and pineapple-doting diva, Miss Foozie. The producers at the Q know a gem when they see one and passed the mike to the Windy City's big-wigged wonder to host her own bar crawling segment. In it, you'll see Miss Foozie partaking in the generous fare of Halsted's bartenders and slurring her speech a bit. But it's all in good fun. Everyone knows the Fooze can handle her booze.

However while at the party, rumor as it a certain unnamed ChicagoPride.com columnist attempted to go drink for drink with Miss Foozie in an effort to emulate her fabulousness. Apparently he got a tad, shall we say, raucous. In order to uphold friendly business relations, he was seen being ushered out of Qtv producers' earshot by CP.com's maven of mystique and advice guru Princess Darby. Her famed spiritual, warm, and soft counsel was curbed for the moment as she instructed her colleague to simply, “Stop drinking!”

Gee, I wonder who that was?

No doubt flown in from some exotic location, like Bali, Belgium or Boise, emceeing the event was Q on the Move's handsome host, Nick Oram. In case you were wondering, the bold, big and boyish grin you see on the TV screen hasn't been photo-shopped. He's just as bright and white, and even more charming, in person. You can read about it yourself here in ChicagoPride.com's featured profile on Nick written by our own celebrity interviewer, Justin Boltz.

Yet if you want to see more than Nick's smile, you'll have to watch the Chicago edition of Q on the Move and catch a glimpse of the Oram torso as Nick climbs into an attended bath filled with rose petals.
