Chicago, IL — The search for "Fernando," a man believed responsible for the brutal killing of a Lakeview resident, has taken initiatives on the popular networking Web site, Myspace.com.

After discovering the body of Kevin Clewer, found stabbed multiple times in March 2004, police have used a composite based on the accounts of witnesses believed to have last seen Clewer alive, in the search for Clewer's killer. Leads have been unsuccessful, and the case has gone cold.

In hopes to acquire new leads and/or information in arresting Fernando, Clewer's brother Ron Clewer opened a Myspace.com account near the third anniversary of Clewer's death.

"I felt it was another avenue. Both of my girls have MySpace [profiles]. They have a lot of activity with their friends; it's a more immediate way to get the composite [sketch] out there," Clewer told the Daily Southtown.

"The current MySpace service was founded in July 2003 by Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe ... According to Alexa Internet, Myspace is currently the world's fifth most popular English-language Web site and the fifth most popular Web site in any language, and the third most popular Web site in the United States." [Source: Wikipedia.org]

Clewer's myspace profile is located at www.myspace.com/4ChicagoKev.
