Chicago, IL — The Gay Games VII - which took place in Chicago last year - turned out to be one of the biggest and best events so far, and if you just can't get enough of them, there is good news for you. The Windy City Media Group has put together commemorative photo album that captures the Gay Games in all its glory.

The multi sport and cultural event, created in 1982 by Dr. Tom Waddell, has had its financial ups and downs over the past few decades, but Chicago turned the event in to a financial success.

In order to insure the similar success to future endeavors, Co-Vice president Tracey Baim began a collaborative effort to put together this photo book that features over 1000 pictures of the events as a way to benefit the Federation of Gay Games.

Dozens of photographers were present to capture the competitions and the ceremonies held all throughout the city, and from over 60,000 image submissions, the publishers have chosen the best to represent the spirit of the event for the book.

The book also has an overview of the past seven Games and has a section dedicated to the athletes who excelled at the first event.

"We are very excited to support the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) and its ongoing mission," Baim said in a press release about the project.

"All proceeds from the sale will go to the important work of the FGG. We wanted a book to show off the amazing contributions of thousands of athletes, cultural participants, volunteers, board, staff, sponsors, donors and more. It is an added bonus that it can benefit the FGG."

The book is designed by WCMG Art Director Kirk Williamson and includes the works of featured photographers Steve Becker, Kat Fitzgerald, Amy Moseley and Patsy Lynch.

Opening Ceremony photos include appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Megan Mullally, Margaret Cho, Andy Bell, Heather Small, Jody Watley, ANT, the cast of The L Word, Ari Gold, and many more.

The book will retail for $49 dollars or can be downloaded in PDF form. To get your piece of history, visit www.lulu.com/content/1179609.
