Chicago, IL — Two teenagers are charged with armed robbery for the attempted robbery of 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney with a weapon in the 3300-block of North Seminary near his office Saturday afternoon.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Brandon Harbin and Pierre Jolly both 16 were ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail Monday.
Police say Tunney was walking Saturday on the North Side when five young people approached him with a weapon within one block of his Ward office and demanded his wallet.
Tunney gave his wallet to them but when the suspects found there was just $1 in it they gave it back and ran away.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports the alderman called 911 and managed to keep a dispatcher on the line for five to seven minutes while he followed the teens and reported on their location.
Tunney was elected to office in 2004 as Chicago's first openly gay alderman.

Ya, Tunney is a freak! One wonders why he is Alderman to begin with. Clearly he has the chief of police on his speed dial. (Remember what he did with his parking ticket the other month!) I can't see the cops doing this for me!
