Chicago, IL — Fall Out Boy's bassist Pete Wentz hopes to motivate fans of all ages as he lends his support to democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
The 28-year-old Wentz returns to his hometown to host a low-dollar fundraiser for Obama at Chicago's Lakeview Broadcasting Company, 3542 N. Halsted, on Tuesday, January 22nd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"I've been an Obama supporter from day one," says Wentz. "After watching the New Hampshire primary, I couldn't just be an observer anymore – I had to act."
Wentz is the latest musician to back Obama in the upcoming presidential elections. Arcade Fire's Win Butler recently threw his support behind Obama.
"Barack is the first politician who's ever made me feel like our voices actually matter," said Wentz, who is urging fans and voters to join him.
The Fall Out Boy star will co-host the event along with Illinois State Representative Sara Feigenholtz. A $75 donation gets you in the door, plus a limited-edition Obama T-shirt designed by Wentz's Clandestine Industries.
