Chicago, IL — 2 time OUTMusic Award winner and 2 time Stonewall Society Pride in the Arts Award winner SCOTT FREE releases 'THE PINK ALBUM (A POP OPERA)' ,the CD 40 years in the making, on Tuesday March 4th.

The gay singer/songwriter extraordinaire has created a queer music masterpiece with his concept album 'The Pink Album (A Pop Opera)'. Gathering stories of friends, ex-lovers, and a few of his own, Scott takes us back to their childhoods, their coming out experiences, and their struggle for self-acceptance. By doing so, he has created a stark look into the lives of gay men in the second half of the twentieth century.

Scott Free's fourth CD is at times touching and poignant, at times horrifying and brutal, and the end result is worthy of the moniker 'opera'.

He explains the origins of some of the songs: "'Like A Girl' is a life-long friend's telephone confession of his nightmare public school experience. 'Better' is taken from the last conversations I had with my ex-lover. I was with him the last two weeks of his life. 'Mom Dad I' is actually my own story - or my own imagination. It is what I thought I was going to say to my parents when I came out. What actually happened was more of a train wreck."

He explains the title: "Yes, It's an homage to both the Beatles and the Who. But I'm not joking about the opera part - I absolutely see these songs being performed on stage. 'Act Up Fight Back' would be show-stopper!" Complete with a haunting overture and the touching finale "My Generation', Scott has created a musical journey of epic proportions. 'The Pink Album (A Pop Opera)' is an astounding achievement.

Beginning March 4th, "The Pink Album (A Pop Opera)" will be available at Amazon.com, CD Baby, and can be downloaded at iTunes and numerous other music download websites.
