Chicago, IL — The Lesbian Community Care Project (LCCP), a program of Howard Brown Health Center, will offer free breast and cervical cancer screenings to uninsured women during their July 30th drop-in night for lesbian, bisexual and queer women.

The screenings with Howard Brown providers will be offered from 6:00-8:00 pm, with a discussion on "Healthy Relationships", facilitated by an in-house expert, held concurrently from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Drop-in nights for lesbian, bisexual and queer women are hosted by LCCP and Howard Brown (4025 N. Sheridan Rd.) on the last Wednesday of each month, with a rotating list of topics presented informally. Future topics will include heart health, LGBT parenthood, substance abuse, mental health, osteoporosis, menopause, body image/nutrition, ovarian and breast cancer, and diabetes. There is no appointment or RSVP necessary, and services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

"This is an important program for LCCP to provide and demonstrates Howard Brown's commitment to the LBT community as well," said Cat Jefcoat, Lesbian Community Care Project Director. "This helps to ensure that lesbian, bisexual, and queer women have ongoing access to sensitive medical care, programming, and education on important lesbian health topics."

For more information about this program, please contact Christina Santiago at 773-388-8993.

LCCP promotes the health of lesbian, bisexual and queer women and transgender individuals through healthcare, advocacy, public education, research and programming. For more information about LCCP visit www.lccp.org
