Chicago, IL — The Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues (ACLGBTI) will host the 16th annual Hall of Fame Celebrity Auction to benefit the 2008 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame.

The auction will be held at Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted on Tuesday, Sept. 23. The registration cocktail reception, silent auction and raffle begins at 7 p.m. and bidding for live auction items will start at 8 p.m. The registration fee of $10 includes a cocktail, hors d'oeuvres from J&L Catering, raffle tickets for the Chinese raffle and an auction paddle with which to bid.

Featured guest auctioneers for the evening include David Boyer, Circuit Mom, Chix Mix Productions' Gia and Renae Ogeltree. Special guest entertainers include Chili Pepper, the rock band, The Joans, Miss Foozie and Cyon Flare.

Prominent personalities from Chicago's LGBT communities will offer items and services for bidders to consider during both live and silent auctions. Items include, a variety of dining packages, video packages, pet care services, art objects, historic treasures, gift baskets, travel packages and much more. Also this year, winning bidders will have the opportunity to be a Fox-TV investigative reporter, take part in exclusive architectural tours of Chicago and host a unique party at Sidetrack. "There are lots of wonderful things, it's our best year ever!" said Bill Greaves, ACLGBTI director, "Visit our Web site at www.glhalloffame.org for a complete listing."

The 2008 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception will be held Thursday, Nov, 13 in the Sidney Yates Gallery of the Chicago Cultural Center. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with the program at 6 p.m. The event is privately funded through generous donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and fund-raisers such as the Celebrity Auction. Staff support is provided by the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, and volunteers.

Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBT citizenry. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to these individuals and organizations, but also documents the communities' heritage and diversity through its annual publication and its Web site at www.GLHallofFame.org.

Individuals, businesses, and organizations who need additional information may contact Bill Greaves at 312-744-7911 or the Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame at 773-281-5077. Contributions may be sent to: The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame, 3712 N. Broadway, #637, Chicago, Illinois 60613.
