Chicago, IL — Chicago will host the largest amateur gay sporting event of the year designed specifically for athletes 40 years an older.
Teams and players from across the US and Canada will converge on the Windy City to compete in this competitive athletic event. The Senior Cup will attract more than 300 athletes, coaches, managers, and fans to the Chicago area. The tournament expects to reach capacity again this year.
All games will played at the Waveland softball diamonds in three divisions. The Senior Cup softball competition will be held on Saturday, Sept, 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13. Pre-activities will begin on Friday, Sept. 11 with a registration party at the North End and the festivities will culminate with an awards presentation at Halsted's Bar and Grill.
In September of 2000, the first Senior Cup consisting of gay and lesbians began. The mission that started in 1998, of realizing a tourney field of 16 teams, has come to reality. For more information, visit www.chicagoseniorcup.com.
