Patio Dining

Andy Farriester, ChicagoPride.com, April 25, 2004

You can smell it in the air. It’s almost electric. Spring is here and that means dining al fresco. Andy lists some of his favorite patio’s, beer garden’s and busy sidewalks to dine.

 The List
1.
Las Mananitas

3523 N Halsted Street Chicago, IL 60657

The patio that has it all. From margaritas that will help you forget last night to some of the best people watching in Boystown, Las Mananitas has one of the best al fresco dining options in this neck of the woods.

2.
Queens Tavern & Bistro

750 Cornelia Ave. Chicago, IL 60657

From the tasty and alluring house cocktails, made from the vodka behind the bar in the large, fruit filled glass containers. To the thoughtfully selected menu items. A wonderful date option on those summer nights.

3.
Bamee Noodle Shop

3120 N Broadway Chicago, IL 60657

In a city where anyone can find a thai restaurant right around the corner from there home, Bamee does nothing to differentiate itself from the crowd but it does have a really large front patio to sit and watch passers by on a nice summer day.

4.
Duke of Perth

2913 N Clark Chicago, IL 60657

Situated in the back of the restaurant is the beer garden, surrounded by paintings of coats of arms on the inner brick wall and a tiny, lone tree in the middle. Dive into one of their many scotches and nosh on their signature fish and chips.

5.
Firefly

3335 N Halsted Chicago, IL 60657

Into people watching? If so, head over to Firefly and grab one of the coveted tables on the side patio. A wonderful array of Bistro standards and killer martinis make Firefly the perfect destination before hitting Boystown.
