“This book is a journey for truth.”—Samuel Kader Sr., Pastor, Community Gospel Church, Dayton, Ohio, Openly Gay, Openly Christian, Leyland Publications.

Am I going to hell because I am gay? Is homosexuality a sin? Should I remain celibate my entire life?

If you or someone you love is struggling with these issues, this book is for you. Follow Reverend Elaine Sundby’s journey as she takes us on her personal quest for truth and self-acceptance—a path that eventually led her to enter the ministry. Reverend Sundby was determined to discover God’s plan for her and equally determined to do what was right in the eyes of God, without taking “the easy way out.”

Simple to understand, yet rooted in spiritual truth, Calling the Rainbow Nation Home has the potential to heal—to heal the battered soul of the Christians who are struggling to reconcile their homosexuality with their faith, and to heal their relationships with those who love them and want to understand.

A new era is just beginning in the gay Christian community, as thousands begin to realize that God loves us all just as we are.

Rev. Sundby's book really touched my heart. By writing about her journey from childhood through adulthood, she helped to demonstrate the struggles that gay Christians experience.

Thanks to Rev. Sundby, I learned about the spiritual movement afoot in GLBT churches. Having become weary from the prodding of gay friends to join this gay church or that, she is the first to understand my heart. I don't want to worship at a church just because it's gay affirming; I want to worship at a church that feeds me spiritually.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone who has struggled with what it means to be gay and Christian

What a book!

This is a needed book for those of us who are struggling with being gay and christian. With the world bombarding us with so many lies about we're going to hell, it's good to read a testimony about a person who had the same feelings and thoughts I had before I was born again and after. To discover that there was another homosexual who is born again and spoke in tongues like I did set me free!!!!! My walk with the Lord has grown much deeper. I hear his voice so clearly and am able to receive revelation from his Word like never before, all because I accepted myself as being a christian man who happens to be gay! The peace I have now is beyond words. I thank God for this book!!!

Inspiraitonal and Better than I hoped for

I have been inspired and informed, and feel with great relief that God is working mightily throughout the gay community. This book was much better than I was expecting and much better than many other books I've read on the subject. E T Sunby's journey to faith is amazing and god-directed. We can all learn and grow from her experience.

Wonderful book inspired by God

I am a Lesbian Episcopalian. So Rev. Sundby's evangelical style of Christianity is a bit different from my own. Still, I read this book with rapt attention and joyfulness. I gained such hope from Rev. Sundby's spiritual struggles and triumphs.

It seems so simple: Jesus gave us Two Great Commandments: Love your God and Love your neighbor as yourself; on these Two Commandments rest all of the laws of the Prophets. Jesus didn't say, "love your neighbor only if she/he is not Gay." He never told us that any form of love can ever be a sin. Rev. Sundby shows us clearly through a journey through Scripture that the sorely-misinterpreted "clobber passages" are exactly that -- gross misinterpretations. She shows us why God will accept us exactly as we are: Gay Christians. Read this book!

Journey of Faith
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
I found Rev Sundby's book, Calling the Rainbow Nation Home, one of the best Christian books I have ever read and I have read quite a few. Rev Sundby is obviously a person who takes her commitment to Christ very seriously and she did not approach the topic of being Gay and Christian lightly when she set out to discover for herself why she felt the way she did.
Her journey through her life of faith is quite different from my own. I originally embraced the gay life wholeheartedly from the outset with no reservations because it seemed right and I did not question God about it. I had been brought up in a devoutly Christian family and was considered just a bit of a black sheep by my family who were patient with me in spite of the fact that I was different from them. I was later convicted by the straight world of being gay and became angry with the world and the church about that. God saved me from myself on that 13 years ago, but I could not get over the fact that I seemed to be in trouble if I considered my sexual orientation to be okay. I hid in the closet for 13 years and just tried to live out a life to please God as a single person and failed miserably at it.

God started working on me about that and eventually got me "straightened out" on that, too. Then I found Rev Sundby's book and I discovered why I really should have no doubts about the attitude of God about me and my sexual orientation and how much He would like to use me to help others see the light on this, too.

Thank you so much Rev Sundby for your courageous book and may God bless you immensely.
