  • As interior designer Jay Burns watches her long-term relationship slowly unravel, she runs into--literally--landscape designer Drew Montgomery. As their paths cross, both professionally and personally, a friendship develops, one they each try to maintain despite the obvious attraction between them. But still, Jay is not willing to throw away an eight-year relationship, even when it becomes painfully obvious the end is near. The Rainbow Cedar is the journey of one woman struggling with the loss of love and commitment from one, and the possibility of finding it all again with someone new.

    Well Done

This was the first Geri Hill book I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She creates characters and settings with a depth that made me feel and see the story.

A big fan of Gerri Hill's writing, this reader was a little disappointed in this particular book. It lacks full character development and has an anemic plot. That said, I am comparing this offering to Hill's other work when I give it 4 stars instead of 5. If I were rating it on its own, I might give it 4.5 stars.

My partner and I both read this one in the same week. Both of us had a similar, slightly-disappointed reaction to the story. It's not all gloom and doom. Jay is a wonderful character on the surface - I just wish she had been written more dimensionally. She is in a bad situation, but can't bring herself to move on. In some ways I can respect that she's reluctant to give up a committed relationship for a new flame. However, at some point I would respect her more for making the tough decisions and moving on.

Bottom Line - Not one of Hill's best, but still an enjoyable read.

    LOVED IT!!
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
I loved everything about this book. Everything. It's amazing. I was hooked from the front to the back cover.

I loved the characters. Specially Drew. She's so hot and sweet. The heat between the two characters is so intense!

Definitely a book to read again.

    Ugh! Really bad...
Customer Rating: 2 out of 5
Sorry, but I just didn't like this. I've read most of Gerri's books, and the last couple (this one and The Cottage) were just plain boring and blah. The characters in this very short novel are so basic, like no effort was put into fleshing them out. Seems like she was just trying to spit another book quickly. I hope she'll get back to making characters the reader can at least start to care about.

I did not think much of this book. Simplistic and boring. Not her usual standard.
