This 21-track Album Will Consist of Twain's Chart-topping Hits, as Well as Three Brand New Songs. Twain Has Celebrated 16 Top Ten Career Hits, 10 of Those of which have Reached the Top Five and Eight of Those of which Secured the Elite No. One Spot. With her Most Recent Album Up! Earning Certification of 10x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, Twain is the Only Artist in History to have Three Consecutive 10x Platinum Certified Albums. The Other Two Being "The Woman in Me" (12x Platinum) and "Come on Over" (19x Platinum).

Shania Twain--recluse, happily married, mother of one--has sold more than 40 million albums with flirty, hook-laden, beat-heavy, country-tinged pop that has all the subtlety of a musical wet T-shirt contest, yet is as irresistible as Swiss chocolate and Pringles. There are a few heartfelt, moon-in-June love ballads on this generous and long-awaited 20-song collection, which includes three new songs along with all the predictable chart-toppers and near-chart-toppers. But it's the mostly nonstop, uptempo booty-shakers--too often with garish overproduction and vapid lyrics--that, for the unconverted, tend to run together after a while. No doubt, this relentlessly upbeat retrospective will keep Twain's millions of fans jumping up and down on their sofas. --Bob Allen

Customer Reviews:

Excellent look at her career
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
This album features all of her American hits from ,"Up!", "Come on Over", and "The woman in me."
every single song brings back good memories and will entertain you for hours. However, it would have been nice if they included one single from her debut album. The booklet freatures pictures from her past music videos. The version of "That don't impress me much" is the dance mix from the international version of "Come On Over." there are the radio versions of her songs, and they are all good. You won't regret buying this album!

Love, love, love

Shania forever!
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
At the outset, I believe it's only fair to divulge that, as a general rule, I don't care for Country music. That said, I really "dig" Shania Twain's hybrid of Rock & Country. In my book she's one of the most talented female artists around in this day & age!

The present album demonstrates her impressive range of skills in both types of songs as well as vocal abilities. Rock ballads such as FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS & FROM THIS MOMENT ON are popular @ weddings. On the flip-side, songs such as WHOSE BED HAVE YOUR BOOTS BEEN UNDER? and HONEY I'M HOME are fun little jaunts.

UP! is a good song to listen to when you're feeling blue as it's meant to lift your spirits & convince you that this crazy life is not going quite so badly as you're inclined to think it is. It also "moves" nicely and reminds me of something that you'd find on A Collection of Roxette Hits: Their 20 Greatest Songs!. That's a good thing in my book!

I can't force myself to believe that Shania resembles the persona in ANY MAN OF MINE. Rather, it seems to me that Shania is poking fun (in a tounge-in-cheek sort of way) at all of the women wandering around who epitomize what Billy Crystal in When Harry Met Sally would categorize as "High Maintenance."

As a guy, I have to admit the obvious: Shania Twain is absolutely gorgeous. That said, I would've never bought her album on this fact alone. Unlike other stunning pop stars such as Britney Spears, Shania has an amazing talent & has some vocal nuances that few sopranos can imitate.

While I could be way off the mark, Shania's personality seems to shine though her songs. She seems like someone who would be great to go to a theme park & have fun with - and not JUST because she's a looker! That's my take, anyway.

So, if you're looking for a great string of songs written in a Rock / Country hybrid style, I'd can't recommend this album highly enough. The fact that the songs are sung by a lovely human being is an added plus!

Not that Impressed
Customer Rating: 3 out of 5
As a new country fan, not familiar with much of her work, even though I am 52, I wasn't that impressed with the cd.
There were some nice songs, some pretty ballds, but there is nothing outstanding about her voice or songs to warrant one album selling 30 million copies.
Her voice is pleasant but she has no range or power at all.
My conclusion is her records were produced to appeal to the largest audience possible by being as bland as possible with somewhat risque lyrics.
Is she really a country artist? The only really country song I heard is the last one on the album. The rest are as much pop, disco or rock as they are country.
What exactly is her appeal aside from being very pretty?
Needless to say I will not be ourchasing her new cd if and when she ever gets around to recording one.
