The Raconteurs

Consolers Of The Lonely follows The
Raconteurs 2006 debut album Broken
Boy Soldiers, which went Top 10, was
Grammy® nominated for Best Rock
Album, and spun off a #1 Modern Rock hit. Led by singer-songwriter-guitarists Jack White of The White Stripes and Brendan Benson, The Raconteurs
relocated to Nashville and moved to
Warner Bros. Fascinating, engaging, and rocking, Consolers Of The Lonely
fulfills the promise of the teaming of
two masters of power pop.

Better than their First!
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
Played this on the way to Coachella last year and they did quite alot of material from it in their set - Carolina Drama live is even better than the CD version, but no complaints here!

Musically AWESOME!
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
This is one of the best albums of 2008... hands down. The combined virtuosity of the members of The Raconteurs makes for musical magic. I could go on and on about this album but I'll just say this... listen to the first cut and then check out "Rich Kid Blues" and then you'll know why you need to buy this album. I tend to be more of a hard rock kinda guy, but I couldn't get this out of my CD player and off repeat on my iPod for weeks! Buy it and you'll see why!

Greatest music CD out there
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
Love this band and this CD. This CD is one you can take with you everywhere you go and never get sick of it. The band plays well together and all the music comes together great. This band doesn't get a ton of coverage but this is definitely a CD that often goes over looked. Don't pass this up if you like good guitar and drums.

A more full palette of sound for the mainstream band
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
When I say mainstream, I don't mean streamlined, because this is anything but that. This album has many elements that are surprising for those accustomed to the bluesy and power pop elements of the two main songwriters. The tracks are filled with diverse genre bending all without sounding alternative, or even commercial, and I have to give them credit for that. This album is a definite step up from Broken Boy Soldiers which was clearly an overly simplified introduction to the dabbling sensibilities each songwriter brought to the table, on this album the entire band feels adequately showcased throughout and they stretch out. Perhaps they were going outside their comfort zone, or maybe they would be comfortable doing this already and just decided to let us in on it. However you crack it the egg is mighty tasty if you eat it and impressive if you let it hatch and grow. Honestly, I think it was gutsy for the Racs to let loose on their love of classic boogie, southern, and all other forms of popular rock they crank out here. No one is creating music of this quality and verve on the scene right. This music is alive as opposed to being studied even when they're doing a cover (rich kid blues). It certainly has its groundings in familiar sounds, but it's a great way to inject so much more energy into it. I find it inspirational to say it's ok to be popular just don't make carbon copies and rob people thinking they were buying a new album. While not the best album in the world it holds its own on every song, and nearly every song is a piece unto itself. That is a feat and if this sounds interesting to you, then I encourage you to get this album.

one of the better albums for 2008
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
I bought this album, thinking that i do like raconteurs, but i thought that their first album had a few dud songs on it. This one really hits the spot after (for me) a year of searching for an album i can just put on and listen to the whole thing with out being tempted to fast forward through a song or two or three. I really like the first and last songs, and songs 7 & 8. These are four songs that could anchor an album on their own. Overall, my best purchase (of music) of the year.
