DJ David Knapp & DJ Escape

"Global Groove: Live 3" draws on the finest names from the dance genre with an impressive TEN #1 artists, and mixing skills from two of America's favorite club DJs; David Knapp (Atlanta) and Escape (New York). This album includes 4 Billboard #1 hits including "The Boss", "Amazing", "Stars" and "Love Vibrations". Also features new songs from Kristine W, Offer Nissim, Inaya Day, Shelia Brody and Suzanne Palmer to put a fresh spin on this latest Global Groove mix, while veteran club gals Celeda and Barbara Tucker, along with newcomer Erika Jayne pipe in with club gems. Sarah Atereth's top five chart hit "It Doesn't Take Much" and the European radio hit "The Cure & The Cause" by Fish Go Deep & Tracey K wind up this impressive thirteen-track collection.

Big Names/Questionable Mixes?
Customer Rating: 3 out of 5
This was my first delve into "Global Groove." Although I don't think it will be my last, I hope the remixes on the next one are better than on this. This is a "mix" CD--all songs flow into each other, and there are some MAJOR diva names appearing: Suzanne Palmer, Inaya Day, Barbara Tucker, and Kristine W to name a few. However, I found some mixes just were not worthy to be on this CD because of length. I expect ANY remix to last better than 3:27 (You Keep Calling Me). And what is an EDIT of an Offer Nissam hit (from Peter Rauhoffer no less) doing on here? Come on guys; what gives?

TRACKS/TIMES are as follows: (1) "Amazing," by Celeda. Time - 5:40; (2) The Boss, by Kristine W [Jamie J. Sanchez After Midnight Club Mix 6:57); (3) Love Vibrations, by Barbara Tucker (DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious Mix 5:19); (4) Chaa Chaa Chaa, by Offer Nissam (Peter Rauhoffer EDIT 4:47); (5) Eye Can See U, by Suzanne Palmer (Offer Nissam Mix 6:23); (6) Say You Will, by Inaya Day (Mike Cruz's Mad Tizzy Mix 6:01); (7) Break You, by Ralh Falcon (The Cube Guys Mix 4:27); (8) U Want It, by Hector Fonseca featuring Alan T (Jose Spinnin' Mix 5:54); (9) Stars, by Erica Jayne (DJ Escape and Johnny Vicious Mix 6:23); (10) E. Q. (I Am In Effect For You), by Sheila Brody (Dynamix vs. Arenna Electric Mix 7:19); (11) It Doesn't Take Much, by Sarah Atereth (DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio Mix 6:01); (12) You Keep Calling Me, by Exacta (DJ Leman's Collect Call Mix 3:27); and (13) The Cure & The Cause, by Fish Go Deep and Tracey K (The Cube Guys Vocal Mix 6:04).

I would have given this a higher rating, but as mentioned above, there are EDITS on this CD. If you're advertising remixes, then that's what should be heard--REMIXES; not EDITS.

Big divas, big remixes, too many tracks less than 6 minutes
Customer Rating: 3 out of 5
Now more than ever, these mixed CDs of circuit anthems can not afford, from a collector's perspective, to waste space on filler just to fit a large mix of songs on one disc. Proud to have so many Billboard #1 dance songs on it that were not released otherwise on CD, this disc unfortunately crams too many songs onto a single disc so that, unlike other discs in this series, we don't get even one song that runs over 7 minutes.

1. Amazing (tracy young mix)...celeda (5:40) (huge #1 billboard dance song that was not released on a CD single--not even 6 minutes here!!!)
2. The Boss (Jamie j. sanchez mix)...kristine w (6:57) (huge diva and favorite club artist, this is just one of many mixes of this hot cover of a Diana Ross classic)
3. love vibrations (dj escape & Johnny vicious mix)...barbara tucker (5:10) (Barbara Tucker is full of diva attitude on this aggressive vocal track--top of her form)
4. chaa chaa chaa (peter rauhofer edit)...offer nissim (4:47) (Even if the artist is Nissim and the remixer is Rauhofer, this is filler. A mostly instrumental tribal track that uses a decades old "didn't I know" screaming female vocal sample that is just plain tired at this point)
5. eye can see u (offer nissim mix)...Suzanne palmer (6:24) (Wow. Hope this gets released as a CD single. Offer Nissim mixes Palmer into a dark and hard slammer. Reminiscent of late 90s Junior Vasquez mixes)
6. say you will (mike cruz mix)...inaya day (6:01) (Mike Cruz takes his tribal mixing a bit too far this time and pretty much washes out the amazing diva attitude of inaya day with this boring mix)
7. break you (cube guys mix)...Ralph falcon (4:18) (and so the filler starts. This is like tribal club kid runway stuff with some male vocal)
8. u want it ( jose spinnin mix)...hector fonseca (5:54) (more of the same runway filler)
9. stars (dj escape & Johnny vicious mix)...erika jayne (6:23) (lots of female vocal on this hot mellow dance track)
10. EQ (dynamix vs. arrena electric mix)...sheila brody (7:19) (Sheila Brody is amazing as usual with this aggressive peak hour track)
11. it doesn't take much (dj escape & tony coluccio mix)...sarah atereth (6:01) (standard hard house vocal stuff from Sarah Aterath. Not the most impressive melody line--not much of a hook)
12. you keep calling me (dj leman mix)...exacta (3:26) (wow. Total waste of space on this minimal tribal track. This is the kind of track that clears the dance floor at a club)
13. the cure & cause (cube guys mix)...fish go deep & tracey k (6:04) (female vocal track--kind of subdued, and a good way to warm down for the conclusion of a dance mix)
